Stop Re-Teaching ChatGPT Your Writing Style
Here's a little trick not many people know.
Here’s a little trick not many people know. (I used to be one of them.)
Go to Settings -> Personalization -> Custom Instructions -> fill in What traits should ChatGPT have?
Here is my custom instructions for your reference: DO NOT use em dash, long dash, or —. Replace em dash or long dash with connector words, commas, or other appropriate punctuation. Use a formal, professional tone. Use contractions to shorten your writing. When proofreading, keep my original writing style.
A few caveats: Most instructions work well, like asking it to maintain your writing style when proofreading. But ChatGPT’s obsession with em dashes is hard to break. No matter what I tried, I could only reduce the number of dashes. ChatGPT always finds a way to sneak at least one in.
Final thought: Should we just accept that everyone will use AI to improve their writing, and let the em dash conquer the world? Long live — em dash.

I treat AI like a brainstorming partner.
❌ One common mistake we keep seeing business owners make in marketing:
They hire a junior marketer to run ads, create content and post on social media... And think their marketing is covered.
Should AI tools have age ratings, just like apps, movies and games?
“The way young people are using AI is disappointing.”
The most plausible bad outcome of AI (or AGI) is not the rise of Skynet.
It is humans quietly outsourcing our intelligence to AI and we eventually lose it.
