šØ Hot take: āAI + senior will replace juniorā is one of the most dangerous myths in business right...
Many leaders see AI as an excuse to cut junior hires. But as AWS CEO Matt Garman put it recently, thatās one of the dumbest things you can do.
Many leaders see AI as an excuse to cut junior hires. But as AWS CEO Matt Garman put it recently, thatās one of the dumbest things you can do.
Hereās why:
1ļøā£ Juniors are the most AI-native.
Theyāre often the fastest to adopt new tools, experiment, and push boundaries. Ironically, the ones youāre thinking of cutting might be the ones who help your company scale AI best.
2ļøā£ AI is an amplifier, not a replacement.
Seniors bring judgment and context. Juniors bring curiosity and fresh perspective. AI makes both more effectiveābut only if both exist.
3ļøā£ Juniors are your talent pipeline.
If you stop hiring and training them, who will become your seniors in 10 years? You canāt outsource experience to AI.
And this isnāt just theory. A recent MIT report found that some of the most successful AI startups are led by 19ā20 year oldsāscaling from zero to $20M in a yearābecause they execute fast, embrace AI natively, and partner smartly.
The real winning formula isnāt AI + senior or AI + junior.
Itās AI + competent employees, regardless of seniority.
Cut juniors today, and youāre not saving costs. Youāre bankrupting your future.
š What do you thinkāare companies underestimating the long-term cost of cutting junior talent?

AI agent + skill is commoditizing (or democratizing for a better word) knowledge at a faster pace than many realized.
The "Dead Internet Theory" is officially dead.

Congrats to cohort #2 for surviving the "torture" of my Foundations of Claude Code workshop.
