Sharing one of my favorite prompting techniques that I don't see many talk about.
Ever spent more time crafting a perfect prompt than doing the actual task?

Most prompting guides tell you to provide a ton of context upfront when using LLMs.
That sounds logical—until you realise you’re spending more time writing the prompt than doing the actual work.
What’s the point then?
Here’s an underrated prompting technique I’ve found far more efficient:
Let the LLM ask you for context.
Instead of trying to anticipate everything it needs, just add:
“Ask me any questions needed to do it well.”
Example Prompt:
—
Help me draft a response to the following. Ask me any questions needed to do it well.
[Email you need to response to]
—
(See how I actually use it to response to a long request by AWS: https://lnkd.in/gsfdZj7N)
It turns the interaction into a conversation, not a one-sided instruction.
The result? Faster iterations, clearer outputs, and less overthinking on your part.
If you’re using AI tools daily, give this a try.
Prompt less, converse more.
